About Joy
Based in Vermont, I support individuals and families with the financial details of everyday life, working both in person and remotely, depending on what feels most helpful.
The story
How I came to this work
A steady, thoughtful approach
My work is centered around helping clients manage the financial details of everyday life with care and attention. I approach that work first and foremost as an advocate for my clients.
How it started
Over time, both through my own experiences and my work with others, I found myself stepping in to help with the important details of people’s lives—reviewing information, asking questions, and making sure things were handled correctly. That naturally led me to the work I do today.
Establishing Supportive Solutions
Learning about what a Daily Money Manager does helped me put a name to the work I was already doing—and ultimately led me to establish Supportive Solutions in 2024 as a natural extension of this work.
Working with clients
When clients invite me into their financial lives, I approach that responsibility with care and respect. I work thoughtfully and thoroughly, always mindful that these matters have a direct impact on daily life. Clients value having steady support and careful attention to detail. In some cases, elements of financial coaching may naturally be incorporated into the work, depending on the needs of the client.
Professional background
My background includes over 30 years of experience working in medical offices and billing environments, where accuracy, follow-through, and clear communication are essential. I am comfortable working with detailed financial information, including medical bills and health insurance, and helping translate what can often feel confusing into something more understandable.
Confidentiality and trust
I maintain a high level of confidentiality and approach each client relationship with respect and discretion. This work requires both care and clear professional boundaries, and I approach each relationship with that in mind.
Credentials and memberships
I am a graduate of Saint Michael’s College and an active member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM), where I have completed a background check as part of their membership requirements. I am also an active member of the Vermont Elder Resource Group (VERG), a member of the Supervisory Committee of a local credit union, and a YNAB Certified Coach.
A personal commitment
This work is personal to me, and I am committed to providing steady, thoughtful support to every client I serve.
